Working with vCloud logfiles
In this recipe we will see how to access the logfiles and make sense of its contents.
Getting ready
We just need a working vCloud environment.
How to do it...
We will first see how to access a logfile and then we will go into the specifics of the two most important files, followed by a look at the vCNS logfiles.
Working with a vCD cell logfile
- Log in to the vCloud Cell.
- Gain root access, if you haven't already.
- Run the following command:
less /opt/vmware/cloud-director/logs/[logfile]
- Use the cursor to move around or refer to the There's more section for more detailed instructions on how to work with
less
. - Exit the program by pressing q (lower case).
