Chapter 8. Managing Virtual Machines, Snapshots, and VMotion
This chapter goes virtual by introducing the virtual machine and its management. It first discusses the VirtualMachine managed object itself and then moves onto different aspects of the management, including life cycle management, configuration management, power management, guest operating system management and customization, VMware Tools installation, and upgrading.
The second part introduces the virtual machine snapshot, snapshot hierarchy, and creating/deleting/reverting a snapshot from the hierarchy.
Finally, this chapter discusses the advanced features VMotion and storage VMotion, which require VirtualCenter and corresponding licenses.
