Chapter 11. Managing Storage and Datastores

This chapter discusses the storage subsystem of a host, which is an important part of virtualization management and happens to be one of the most confusing areas of the entire VI SDK. The confusion mostly comes from the complexity of storage system in enterprise computing. Before moving on the formal discussion, this chapter briefly covers some basics of storage virtualization and how it’s layered.
