Chapter 13. Performance Monitoring

This chapter introduces performance management using the VI SDK. It first introduces several basic concepts used in performance statistics: counters, intervals, rollup types, and real-time statistics. Then it introduces the PerformanceManager managed object, focusing on how to retrieve performance metadata and how to retrieve the system performance data, including the historical data and real-time data. Along the way, this chapter also includes tips on how to avoid common problems and how to monitor performance without hurting performance too much.
