CHAPTER 16VMware Fault Tolerance

By the time this book is on the shelves, you may know all about VMware Fault Tolerance (FT). However, right now this is bleeding-edge technology that very few people have actually configured and used. Although I say FT is “bleeding-edge,” in fact, back at VMworld 2007, one of the founders of VMware, Mendel Rosenblum, demonstrated what then was called Continuous Availability. So, actually the feature has been in VMware labs for some years.

Like many others, I hope that FT will create a new surge of interest in VMware technologies, and at the same time lay to rest the ghost of MSCS and other availability technologies.
