Remediating a VM or a VA

Virtual machines can be remediated by using one of the following two predefined baselines:

  • VMware tools upgrade to match host
  • VM hardware upgrade to match host

A virtual appliance (VA) can be remediated by either using the predefined baseline VA Upgrade to Latest or by using a custom baseline.

Tip

Remediating a VM or a virtual appliance can't be done from the host and clusters inventory view. Make sure you change the view to VMs and Templates.

How to do it...

The following procedure will help you remediate a VM or a virtual appliance:

  1. On vCenter Server, change the inventory view to VMs and Templates.
