Installing vShield Manager OVA
vShield manager is the management component of the vShield suite and must be installed and configured before any other component of the suite is installed. The manager is packaged as a virtual appliance and must be downloaded and installed through vCenter.
Getting ready
Since vShield Manager is a preconfigured virtual appliance, certain conditions must be met prior to the installation of the appliance. These conditions are as follows:
- vCenter 5.5 must be installed.
- Each host managed by vCenter must be ESXi 5.1 or higher.
- VMs to be protected by vShield Endpoint or vShield Data Security must have a minimum virtual hardware Version 7. Versions 8 through 10 are also supported.
