RTCP

After a reservation has been established through the use of RSVP, the traffic is then sent between machines with RTP. Next, the Real Time Control Protocol (RTCP) comes into the picture by providing the procedure for the machines to keep each other informed about (a) the quality of services they think they are providing (if they are service providers), and/or (b) the quality of services they are receiving (if they are service clients).

In concept, a server can adjust its quality-of-service operations depending on the feedback it receives from its clients. However, the manner in which these adjustments are made is not defined by RTCP.
