In August 2014, Nextdoor, an online social network where members are limited based on their physical address and surrounding neighborhood, reported that the site had reached one out of every four American communities.1 In 2011, German officials explored banning Facebook events because of serious overcrowding at some parties that were posted to public calendars on the site.
