Planets

Above the sky and into the great beyond is the domain of planets and moons. Vue recreates the nine planets of the solar system and our own moon using specialized alpha planes. These have the images of the planets on them, surrounded by transparency, and being lit up enough to be seen. This is also the source of the visible sun disk.

These planet alpha planes always face the camera, no matter where it is placed in the scene. The easiest way to demonstrate this is to experiment with the sun in the three-dimensional (3D) views. By default, the sun is set to point at the camera in the Aspect tab. With this setting, grab the sun ...
