Throughout Wants, Wishes, and Wills, we’ve tried to provide you with two things: the tools needed to build your own health care system and to get your affairs in order, and the encouragement to talk, talk, talk about everything with your health care providers, family, friends, counselors, and everyone else who matters to you.
Growing up, we were taught that there were certain things you just “didn’t talk about.” Back then, the subjects were sex, religion, and politics. Turn your TV to any channel, and you’ll see that these rules of polite conversation don’t apply anymore. Few topics are taboo anymore, with the exception of death and our end-of-life wants, wishes, and wills.
