WAP Security Architecture
The WAP platform is fairly young for an Internet application platform. Its design has leveraged the lessons from the development of other platforms, such as the HTML browser, and it has built-in facilities to address security.
This section will walk you through the pieces of WAP that attempt to meet the security requirements and threats from the preceding section head on. First, I illustrate the path through which all communication between the user and your application travels. Next, I cover the stock security system currently built in to the WAP specification. Finally, I mention some of the future enhancements to these technologies that will guard against future security threats.
