Abstract:
This chapter deals with energy recovery in waste-fired boilers, starting with a review of types of boilers suitable for waste incineration. The chapter highlights how combined heat and power (CHP) production can substantially increase overall energy recovery from a waste-fired facility. Technical aspects of district heating and district heating networks are described, as well as general methods of energy recovery optimization.
