This chapter explains how the empirical study underpinning this relational investigation developed in order to provide an example for other researchers who wish to employ a relational conceptual framework. The study evolved through three iterative stages. The initial stage examined the experience of information literacy by postgraduate information management students within an academic setting. By the final stage, the research focus expanded to investigate the students’ information literacy experience within professional and personal perspectives in addition to the academic one.
