14.1. Content-Blind Request Distribution with Full Replication
This section considers request distribution mechanisms that are oblivious to the requested objects; we refer to those mechanisms as content-blind mechanisms. The granularity of request distribution in these schemes is a Web site; all requests to a given site are distributed in the same way regardless of which objects are requested. These mechanisms include client redirection, redirection by a balancing switch, redirection by the Web site's DNS servers, and anycast.
