Bridging the Divide – Client (Frontend) versus Server (Backend) Development

Now, I’d like to delve deeper into the idea that was introduced in Chapter 1 – that a web developer is a software developer – and then talk about the various job titles that you might find yourself with these days (it might surprise you to learn that “web developer” might be the least likely!).

In the process, I’ll begin to introduce some of the concepts that go into building that technological foundation, such as getting into HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in more detail, what event handlers are, what the DOM is, introducing server-side programming ideas such as Node, and finally a look at some of the job titles you might encounter in this field.
