Questions to Ask About a Web Page
1. Where does this page reside?
You can get a lot of information just based on where the page resides. If the side resides on an .edu domain, you can generally give it a little more credibility. Same for a .gov or .mil domain. The .us domains used to have a lot of instant credibility, but now they're open to registration by anybody and you can't rely on them like you used to.
You also need to consider whether the site resides on its own domain or not. I tend to automatically give a little bit more credibility to a site that has its own domain rather than a site hosted on a free Web service like Geocities or that uses the free Web space provided by an ISP.
