Chapter 3. Scenario 2: Working with a
new configuration
In this chapter, we describe an alternate way to set up a WebSphere Business
Integration Server Foundation V5.1 for z/OS runtime environment. We start with
a base server and eventually end up with a Deployment Manager cell. This cell
consists of a non-clustered application server and a clustered server contenting
two application server members across two LPARs. See Figure 3-1 on page 77.
򐂰 Non-clustered application server
The purpose of setting up this server is to simulate a simple WebSphere
Business Integration Server Foundation V5.1 for z/OS environment on one
z/OS LPAR using one application server. It can be used as a starting point or
a test environment. This non-clustered application server member is called
sdsr01a.
򐂰 Clustered server
The purpose of a clustered server is to simulate a production environment
that might be closer to reality. In this setup, we cluster two application server
members (
sdsr03a and sdsr03b) which are running on two different z/OS
LPARs. Collectively these two application server members are known as an
application server called
SDSR03. From a cluster perspective, we call this
cluster
sdsr03cluster.
