B.1. Sybase jConnect Client
Remote Sybase connectivity is provided with the Sybase jConnect Client. Once configured with an appropriately installed Sybase database, jConnect will support both the WebSphere administrative database and the creation of subsequent Sybase JDBC datasources.
Sybase V12 supports both jConnect 4.2 and jConnect 5.2, with both versions available on the Sybase install media. However, users must install jConnect 5.2 for the JDBC 2.0 support required by WebSphere V3.5.
