There are a variety of best practices for application coding and configuration of data access using JDBC 2.0 with WebSphere. These are described below.
10.4.1. Select database manager/driver capabilities
WebSphere V3.5x provides generic support for both the JDBC 2.0 Core API and Optional Extensions API. However, some advanced features (specifically of the Optional Extensions API) are supported only by some database drivers.
