Crossflow Behavior and the Determination Reservoir Parameters by Drawdown Tests in Multilayer Reservoirs
Abstract
The crossflow behavior and its influence on transient well tests are studied when several layers are perforated and produce with a fixed total rate and a common wellbore pressure. Using the semipermeable wall model, an approximate theoretical expression for the crossflow is obtained and compared with the simulation results. The physical reasons for the formation of crossflow and its characters are explained. The relationship between crossflow and the permeability of shales between layers are shown.
