George S. Patton (1885–1945) is among the most successful generals of World War II. After the attack on Pearl Harbor triggered the United States’ entry into the war, the then Major-General Patton, under the supreme command of General Dwight Eisenhower, successfully led the Western Task Force in Operation Torch during the American landings in North Africa in November 1942.
