Richard Parsons was named chairman of the board of Citigroup on January 21, 2009. Previously, Parsons had been chairman of the board of Time Warner since 2003, where he had also served as chief executive officer from 2002 to 2007.
As CEO, Parsons led Time Warner’s turnaround and set the company on a solid path toward sustainable growth. In its January 2005 report on America’s Best CEOs, Institutional Investor magazine named Parsons the top CEO in the entertainment industry.
