We are all fascinated by intergenerational differences—and probably no more so than in Millennials. Are they really that different from any other demographic group, and if so, what is the source of these differences and what should this mean for those who support, manage, and lead them? It is no surprise that this fascination has created endless analysis of this generation’s current work habits and motivations and indeed much speculation about its future aspirations and likely career trajectories. Much of this analysis is simply based on relatively narrow observations and is often tinged with a strong personal belief of the observer. Some of it is negative and stereotypical.
