In this chapter we will explore how we can assist other newcomers, and learn how to improve our ability to:

• Facilitate and develop the five newcomer skills in other people.

• Help newcomers become comfortable, confident, and accepted in the group.

So far, this book has been about how you can become a more confident, comfortable, and successful newcomer. But that is only half the picture. Once you’re integrated, productive, and happy in your new group or organization, you have an obligation to “pay things forward” and find effective ways to welcome those who join after you.
