Foods and drinks to avoid in pregnancy
When you are pregnant, you should avoid certain foods and drinks, and cut down on others. Some, such as raw eggs, pâté and blue cheese, can lead to food poisoning. Others, including liver products, certain fish and alcohol, contain substances that could be toxic in high doses to your developing baby. As mentioned previously, you should also try to avoid eating too many sugary and fatty foods such as take-aways, fizzy drinks, crisps, biscuits and sweets, which contribute to weight gain without providing essential nutrients.
