Closing Thoughts

The future of American democratic capitalism is clouded. It is possible that we will be able to overcome our obsession with economic efficiency. And it is possible that we will not. For the former to happen, it will take a lot of work and commitment by many Americans. I will describe the contrasting scenarios first and then conclude this book with a call to action for American business executives, political leaders, educators, and citizens.
