Quality Awards, Six Sigma, and Lean
Awards
Both the US Baldridge Award and the European EFQM Excellence Index provide pathways to organizational excellence. The foundation International management standard also provides a pathway to excellence. The standards for medical devices, automotive, oil and gas and laboratories, and others, build on that foundation with more specific requirements and standards.
Having a management standard in place and having it certified or accredited places you well above the base of any maturity model but it still leaves you plenty of scope for further improvement and development as well.
