Winning teams know the score.
Effective feedback is a key to team success. It consists of two basic elements:
The score. Winning teams need an objective, accurate way to measure their performance.
Acknowledgement. The players in successful organizations benefit from acknowledgement and criticism of how they are doing.

To be successful a team needs to know how they are doing. They need high-quality, objective feedback. They need to know the score. The ability to assess and adjust performance is critical to continuous improvement. Assessment must be based on clear and accurate information. Team members may think, "We're a great team."
