It is a remarkable time in America’s corporate financial management and every book written on business matters today needs to address the appalling circumstances found in Enron, WorldCom, Tyco, and the entire financial accounting regime of our industrial society. It is possible that the tentacles of this ethics monster will reach far deeper into corporate America than is now evident. It is also possible that if we escape a broad collapse in confidence with depression to follow, we will be dumb lucky.
