Windows 10 Inside Out, 4th Edition

Introduction

The authors of this book began working together in 2001 with the very first title in the Inside Out series, covering what was at the time the newest member of the Microsoft operating system family, Windows XP.

In the intervening two decades, we’ve done so many updates we’ve lost count, covering every major new release of Windows except Windows 8. (Judging by the feedback we’ve received from readers, we weren’t alone in skipping that ill-fated version.)

For those earlier updates, we had the luxury of knowing that each new release would have a lifespan of at least three years. That’s not the case with Windows 10, which gets new feature updates twice each year instead of every few years.
