Launches different Windows 2000 administrative tools.

Description
The shortcuts in this folder are essentially the same as those available through Start → Programs → Administrative Tools. The only difference is that any custom tools you create (by adding snap-ins to an MMC console) are displayed through the Start menu but not in the Control Panel folder.
If you hate the Start menu, open Administrative Tools in the Control Panel, select List view from the toolbar, and size and relocate the window so that the tools are easily available from the desktop.
Notes
On Windows 2000 Professional computers this folder contains only the following limited set of preconfigured MMC consoles:
Component Services Computer Management Data Sources (ODBC) Event Viewer Local Security Policy Performance Services Telnet Server Administrator By default, these tools are not displayed from the Start menu, but this can be changed by using the Advanced settings of the Taskbar Properties (see Taskbar in this chapter).
