Depending on who you ask, installing Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional is or isn't easier than installing its predecessor, Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 4.0. Users with typical configurations and hardware that's on are on Microsoft's official list of compatible hardware, the infamous hardware compatibility list, have no problem (the hardware compatibility list is available at http://www.microsoft.com/hcl).
