Access Control Entry (ACE)

An entry in a security descriptor for an object such as a file or folder on an NTFS drive. It includes the SID of a user or group and the permissions assigned to the user or group. A group of ACEs on a system is referred to as an access control list, and when used on an NTFS drive, it's referred to as a Discretionary Access Control List (DACL).

Account Lockout Policy

Group Policy settings that can control the maximum number of times an incorrect password can be entered before an account is locked out.
