Viewing Installed Updates
Hopefully when you first set up your Windows 7 computer, you selected the default to automatically download and install Microsoft updates.
CAUTION: If you didn't turn on Microsoft updates, don't wait too long. Microsoft updates are described in Chapter 16.
Typically, Microsoft sends out security updates on the second Tuesday each month, often referred to as Patch Tuesday. Occasionally Microsoft sends out updates in between if there is a serious security issue that needs to be fixed as soon as possible.
If your computer starts acting funny on a Wednesday after Patch Tuesday, it is possible that something did not work right with an update that was just installed on your computer.
