3.3. Allow a person to use only specified programs
You can configure a user's parental controls to specify the programs that user is allowed to run.
Assuming you have set up your children with Standard user accounts, it is welcome news to know that Windows 7 security is structured in such a way that Standard users cannot do much overall harm to a computer. However, that does not mean you should give your children the run of the PC. There are plenty of executable files on a typical Windows 7 system and the vast majority of them should be off-limits. However, anything can happen with an overly curious or fumble-fingered child at the keyboard.
