3.6. Protect a File or Folder with Permissions

Windows 7 offers a sophisticated file security system called permissions. Permissions specify exactly what the groups or users can do with the contents of the protected folder. There are six types of permissions.

With Full Control permission, users can perform any of the actions listed. Users can also change permissions. With Modify permission, users can view the folder contents, open files, edit files, create new files and subfolders, delete files, and run programs.
