Should I Get Windows 8?

In our last book, when we posed the same question about Windows 7, the answer was absolutely clear, for virtually everyone: “Yes! Run, don’t walk.”

The answer isn’t absolute in this case. It depends on what you have now and what you want to do:

• If you’re getting a tablet computer such as the Microsoft Surface, you’re going to be getting Windows 8 (or Windows RT, as we’ll discuss shortly) no matter what, but even if you had an option, Windows 8 would be the right choice. This is where it shines.
