Referencing Objects
WMI objects sit within a namespace and are bound by associations and class groups, but this structure is of no use to a system administrator without a mechanism for referring to objects and following associations. To pose the problem in a slightly different way, a management application or script that needs to interact with a WMI object must have some way of explaining its requirements to the Object Manager. The details of the mechanism used for communication between a management application or script and the Object Manager are partly dependent on the programming language and WMI interface being used.
