This chapter sheds some light on the oft-neglected arena of casual gaming on mobile devices. When developers think of mobile games, they typically think of OpenGL ES games for iOS devices such as the iPhone and iPad, or they think of Direct3D via the XNA developer toolkit on Windows Phone 7. The goal of this chapter is to remind you that there are more gaming options than going with high-production, render-engine type games.
