Chapter 24. Windows 8 convergence
As mentioned in Chapter 1 the biggest architectural change in Windows Phone 8 is the adoption of a common core platform with Windows 8. This chapter covers how to take advantage of that common core by reusing code across Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 projects and how to deal with some of the differences that exist between the two platforms. Because development for Windows 8 would require another entire book, we will generally assume that you are familiar with the new platform for Windows Store apps and focus on sharing code between Windows Store apps and Windows Phone Store apps.
