TS Session Broker provides a load balancing service for incoming user session requests. When a user initiates a connection to a terminal server farm that is load balanced by TS Session Broker, he or she is first connected to a single terminal server. That terminal server then redirects the connection request to the TS Session Broker, which uses a load balancing algorithm to forward the request to the most appropriate terminal server. To decide which server is most appropriate, the algorithm will first determine whether the connecting user already has a session that is running on one of the servers in the farm.
