Chapter 14. Network Access Protection Overview
This chapter describes the need for the new Network Access Protection (NAP) platform in the Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, and Windows XP SP3 operating systems, the components of NAP on an example intranet, and how NAP works for different types of NAP enforcement methods.
This chapter assumes that you understand the role of Active Directory, public key infrastructure (PKI), Group Policy, and Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) elements of a Microsoft Windows–based authentication infrastructure for network access. For more information, see Chapter 9.
