At first glance, the interface of Windows Server 2008 appears to be completely different from the one in Windows Server 2003, and in some ways that’s true. The new Server Manager console is a new and complete departure from earlier versions of Windows Server. For one thing, it’s actually useful. But more important, it is the supported method for adding roles and features to Windows Server 2008.
