Challenge
A large-sized company wants to consolidate a number of two-node file and print server clusters it has deployed and has decided to standardize on Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V as the operating system of choice to achieve this goal. One of the deployment blockers that stopped this company from carrying out such a consolidation exercise in the past is the fact that it had standardized on storage area networks (SANs) that are based on Fibre Channel. A Systems Engineer has been assigned to carry out the task of configuring N_Port ID Virtualization and needs to draw up a list of the prerequisites in order to configure NPIV within his/her environment.
