Enabling Hyper-V Replica between Nonclustered Hosts
In the simplest HVR scenario, you replicate between two nonclustered hosts in the same Active Directory forest. This section demonstrates and explains this scenario: Host1 is going to replicate three virtual machines (VM01, VM02, and VM03) to Host2, in another site, via a secure site-to-site VPN link.
By default, a Hyper-V host is configured to block (Windows Firewall) and reject (authentication) attempts to replicate virtual machines to it. You must enable any hosts in the DR site to accept replication attempts from other hosts.
The first step in enabling inward replication on Host2 is to enable Hyper-V Replica in the host settings:
