Enabling Virtual Machine Replication
Virtual machine replication is enabled on a per-machine and per-virtual hard disk basis. In this section, you are going to replicate three virtual machines from Host1 to Host2, each using a different method to perform the initial copy.
Understanding Copy Methods
HVR must copy the entire virtual hard disks that are selected for replication before the more efficient change-only block-level replication can begin. By using this approach, the replica is ready for failover, be it planned, unplanned, or a test. There are three ways to send the initial replica of virtual machines from the source host to the replica host:
