Managing the Data Sources

After opening a SharePoint site in SharePoint Designer 2007, you can easily view and maintain a list of the available data sources from which that site can retrieve data. SharePoint Designer 2007 calls this list the Data Source Library and it appears, logically enough, on the Data Source Library task pane. To display this task pane, click the Task Panes menu and then select Data Source Library.

SharePoint Designer 2007 also enables you to add a data source from another site to the current site so that data sources can be shared without the need for duplication. When another data source is added to the Data Source Library, it will be available to the site, but it does not automatically get applied to it.
