Chapter 16. Configuring Backup
Backup is one of those chores that everyone knows is necessary but everyone hates to deal with. In Microsoft Windows Small Business Server (SBS) 2011 Standard, the solution can be simple if you only need to do disaster recovery backups of the server. Setting up a more robust backup of your entire network, including the clients on the network, requires more than just SBS 2011 by itself. You’ll need either a third-party product or our preferred solution—Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials. After you’ve done the initial setup and configuration of backups, they should happen automatically and without intervention. Which does not mean you can ignore them.
