Get a High-Level View of Video Interfaces
Video interfaces that will interest you the most are as follows:
Analog interfaces. This includes composite video; component video; Separate video (S-Video); and Red, Green, Blue (RGB).
Digital interfaces. This includes the Digital Visual Interface (DVI) and High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) technologies.
Note
DVI does not include audio channels. If you use this interface for your video, you’ll need a separate interface for the audio portion of your connections.
Media formats. This includes Video Home System (VHS), DVD, Blu-ray technology, and high-definition DVD (HD DVD) among others.
